Hello, my name is Chris Walsh, your driver, your guide, your friend and the owner of Black Cab Tours of London!
The inspiration behind Black Cab Tours comes from my love of London and my passion for sharing all I know about the world's greatest capital city with others.
I have lived in London from birth, I am a proud cockney with East London roots who adores this thriving city! I have always been interested in the history, buildings and people who live in and work here and it is this interest that spurred me on to join and complete the accredited guiding course run by The Worshipful Company of Hackney Carriage Drivers, qualifying as a taxi tour guide in 2017.
But before this, In December 2013, after studying non-stop for 3 1/2 years, I proudly completed the worlds toughest taxi test called The Knowledge, this is the test that all Black Cab London taxi drivers must have to be able to work in the City. Passing The Knowledge involves, amongst other things, confirming to memory over 25,000 road names, 40,000 points of interest and over 100,00 possible routes in a 6 mile radius from Trafalgar Square and undergoing a series of verbal examinations to prove it.
We are like walking sat navs (batteries not included)!
All of this passion persuaded myself to set up the company to try and make sure that your Black Cab Tour of London is met with the standards and enjoyment that

For all the passengers of Black Cab Tours, having a fully qualified Hackney Carriage guide who knows every building and road in London will make your personal experience of London EXTRA special giving you an interesting, fun and knowledgeable insight to a tour of London, one that cannot be found underground or on the top of a double decker bus!

" My family of four (me, husband, and two teenagers) recently had about a day and a half to spend in London. We knew we would only be able to see a tiny fraction of all this city has to offer, so we decided to do this tour as a way to see as much as possible in a short amount of time. The tour was perfect! First of all, Chris was so easy to communicate with from the first email all throughout the entire tour. He was prompt, friendly, and professional - and as a lifelong Londoner, his deep knowledge of the city was amazing. He answered every question we had as we drove through the different neighborhoods and pointed out sights we would have otherwise missed. I also liked that the tour was flexible - Chris wanted to show us what WE wanted to see, not some pre-arranged route. Since we had seen Buckingham Palace the night before, we skipped that and that made time to see some other places like Abbey Road. The cab itself was also super cool - it was very comfortable for the four of us (you sit two facing two!) and made it very easy to see out of the many windows or glass roof. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to cover a lot of ground in London in a short period of time!"
